NATU 200 - The Art of Nature Journaling
Course Description
Friday, April 25, 2025
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
$60.00
Nature Journaling helps to deepen your observational and drawing skills of the natural world around us. The practice of keeping a nature journal is an extremely effective and engaging way to observe, spark curiosity, and think creatively. When we use words, pictures, and numbers to journal it helps us to think differently and make a more complete record of what we see. Starting (or maintaining) a nature journal is a way to rediscover the thrill of science. It helps us to slow down, look, ask questions, and piece together answers.
Nature Journals are your personal observations. How you record what you see, hear, experience, question, and research is your personal work. This workshop will provide you with the time, space, materials, and instruction to begin your exploration of nature journaling or enhance an already established practice. Within the workshop we will spend time studying and recording what we see and feel, learning about basic pen and drawing techniques, applying color, creative ways to layout a nature journal page, and reflective prompts to deepen our awareness.
Join Debby Singleton for this supportive, engaging, and nature-based workshop for journaling and creating art. Debby will provide all materials needed for this workshop. At the end, each participant will take home a completed nature journal of their observations and a resource list to further their practice. Debby is a firm believer that everyone can “create” and uses this mantra to help others find the joy in the “process”.
