Build Your EQ: How to be Emotionally Intelligent in the Workplace

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to identify and manage our own emotions, as well as tune into and respond appropriately to other people’s emotions. Strong emotional intelligence in the workplace is essential. Individuals who have higher emotional intelligence are more likely to be successful in their careers and in life.

In this interactive, day-long workshop participants will:

•Learn about the four domains of emotional intelligence

•Recognize situations that trigger strong emotions, including 5 common triggers in the workplace;

•Learn strategies for maintaining composure and calm in stressful situations;

•Learn strategies for managing anger and worry/anxiety at work;

•Develop perspective-taking and empathy skills;

•Recognize the power of positive thinking/realistic optimism;

•Learn proven strategies for building resilience;

•Identify personal strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Attendees will be given pre-work prior to the workshop, which should take about 30 minutes to complete. During the workshop, attendees will participate in a variety of activities designed to build their emotional intelligence.
