Course Description

Ages 7-14
** Please ensure that you are enrolling for camps with a Family Account. **

This camp is designed to nurture creative and critical thinking in a fun, supportive environment. Children who are 7 (by August 31st) through 14 years old may choose from a variety of projects that range from creating a Rube Goldberg Machines, filming a news broadcast, creating an invention, solving a world problem, myth-busting, crime scene investigation, archaeology, and more. Children will be working in small groups with an approximate ratio 1:5, providing a personalized creative experience for each child. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a “maker space” to complete creative challenges. On Friday, parents are invited to a showcase of the creative projects developed during the week. Registration is limited to the first 60 children.

Notes

Lunch will be provided at WCU’s Catamount Café (the main dining hall). The dining hall is an all-you-care-to-eat facility with plenty of options to choose from. Instructors will monitor students during this time and help our younger participants with their meals. Please plan to send a water bottle and an afternoon snack daily.
