Course Description

Ages 9-12
** Please ensure that you are enrolling for camps with a Family Account. **

There's a difference between being in nature and BEING in nature - and that difference is the ability to notice. Freelance writer and nature photographer Sue Wasserman loves helping children become more present in the moment so they can notice nature's countless wonders: faces in trees, the endless shades of green in the woods, mushrooms that look like fairies, the way a ripple fans out across the water's surface. Campers will turn up the volume on their senses - sight, hearing, smell, touch, and even taste (snacks taste better when meandering). The kids can then transform their experiences into thoughtful conversations, creative journaling, photography, and drawing. Each day will bring a different outdoor adventure. Several river/stream activities will keep the kids cool so plan to bring a change of clothes. Journals and colored pencils will be provided.

Notes

Campers should expect to walk up to a few miles each day. Please be prepared with comfortable shoes, clothing and a water bottle.

Please note that lunch will not be provided for this half-day program. Snacks will be provided daily.
