Course Description

Western Carolina University’s Cherokee Language Summit has been hosted annually since 2017 excluding a two-year hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic. The 5th Cherokee Language Summit brings together Cherokee language instructors and students from several universities and tribal programs to share strategies for teaching and learning the language. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit important Cherokee cultural sites, screen film, attend a spring social and network and learn from their peers. Rustic hostel-style lodging is provided free of charge for up to 40 attendees. Shuttles will be available for those with local transportation needs.
